Apex payout rules and the 50% consistency rule

What it takes to get paid from an Apex Performance Account, with every number taken from Apex's own help center.

The short version

  • Approved payouts from a Performance Account (PA) are paid at a 100% split. A PA is simulated funded, not a live account.
  • You need 5 qualifying days, each with at least the minimum daily profit for your size: $100 to $350 on EOD accounts, $100 to $300 on Intraday accounts.
  • 50% consistency: no single day can be 50% or more of your profit since your last payout. It applies in the PA, and Apex lists it as not applied in the EOD evaluation.
  • The minimum payout is $500, and your balance has to stay above the safety net (your drawdown plus $100) for the life of the account.
  • Each PA allows 6 payouts, each with its own cap. After the sixth, the PA closes.

These are the rules for Apex's current EOD and Intraday accounts. Legacy accounts, which Apex brought back for a limited time on Nov 1, follow older rules that aren't covered here.

What you need before you can request a payout

SizeMin profit per day
EOD / Intraday
Safety netMin balance to request
25K$100 / $100$26,100$26,600
50K$250 / $200$52,100$52,600
100K$300 / $250$103,100$103,600
150K$350 / $300$154,100$154,600

You need 5 qualifying days. They don't have to be in a row, and there's no deadline, so payouts can come as often as weekly. The minimum balance already includes the safety net and the $500 minimum payout. You can keep trading after you request, but trade as if the money is already gone: if your balance drops below the line, the request is denied automatically.

Intraday accounts

Payout25K50K100K150K
1$1,000$1,500$2,000$2,500
2$1,000$2,000$2,500$3,000
3$1,000$2,500$3,000$3,000
4$1,000$2,500$3,000$4,000
5$1,000$3,000$4,000$4,000
6$1,000$3,000$4,000$5,000
All 6$6,000$14,500$18,500$21,500

"All 6" is the six caps added up, which is the most one PA can pay out, whatever it earns. After the sixth payout the PA closes, and you need to pass another evaluation for a new one.

The 50% consistency rule

Your biggest profitable day has to be less than 50% of your net profit since your last approved payout (or since the account started). To find the profit you need, take highest day ÷ 0.5.

  • Apex's example: a $1,500 best day on a 50K PA means you need $3,000 of net profit.
  • Losing days count, because it uses net profit. Make $1,000 on day 1 and lose $200 on day 2, and your best day is 125% of profit.
  • Going over 50% doesn't fail the account. The payout button just doesn't appear until you get back under.
  • It resets after each approved payout.

One wrinkle: Apex's rule text says "50% or more" fails, but the example table on the same page marks exactly 50% as met. Leave yourself a little room.

  • EOD evaluation: 30 days to hit the target, no minimum number of days, so you can pass in one day. Consistency and scaling aren't applied. After you pass, you have 7 days to activate the PA.
  • EOD drawdown is set once a day at the close and enforced during the next session. Touch it at any time and the account is liquidated.
  • Intraday drawdown follows your peak balance in real time, including open profit. In a PA it stops trailing once it reaches your starting balance plus $100.
  • Hitting the daily loss limit pauses trading for the session. It doesn't close the account.
  • You can hold up to 20 PAs at once.

Questions about Apex rules

What are Apex's payout rules?

You need 5 qualifying days that each meet the minimum daily profit for your account size, a balance above the safety net plus the $500 minimum payout, and no single day at 50% or more of your profit since your last payout. Approved payouts are paid at a 100% split, with up to 6 payouts per Performance Account.

What is Apex's consistency rule?

No single profitable day can be 50% or more of your net profit since your last approved payout. Divide your best day by 0.5 to get the net profit you need. Going over doesn't fail the account; you just can't request a payout until you're back under.

Does the Apex consistency rule apply in the evaluation?

Apex's EOD Evaluations page lists consistency as not applied. The 50% rule applies when you request payouts from a Performance Account.

How many payouts can I take from one Apex account?

Six. Each payout has its own cap. On a 50K EOD account, for example, they run from $1,500 to $3,000, for $13,000 in total. After the sixth payout the account closes.

What is the Apex safety net?

Your drawdown limit plus $100, for example $52,100 on a 50K account. Your balance has to stay above it for the life of the Performance Account, and only profit above it can be paid out.

What is Apex's minimum payout?

$500 per request, on every account size.
